Students
Young people from all corners of our planets
Colleagues
Seated in front of me I see the future; Youth from schools, organisations, projects and networks from many different countries, with diverse cultures and different perspectives.
I see humanity's future and hope, with a huge responsibility for ensuring sustainability of our planet.
My dear young friends, you are a generation facing ecological injustices, drastic climate change patterns and environmental racism and all forms of societies ills, yet you are determined to overcome.
Whether you come from a country shattered by poverty and disease or from a privileged wealthy country, you all have an obligation.
A moral obligation to ensure sustainable development without further threatening the existence of our planet, an obligation to root out actions that are slowly strangling Mother Earth by these actions are carried governments and industry, some with impunity.
YOUNG PEOPLE, THERE CAN BE NO BETTER TIME ACT THAN NOW.

Starting a National Branch

Is there any delegation or country looking to set up a National Branch in their country.
First is bring a delegation of students to one or more of the annual conferences held globally.
Then read the guidelines and approach a member of International Board of CEI with a proposal.
This may co-incide with hosting the annual conference in your country or it may just be to promote and organise delegations for future conferences.
Hong Kong 2007...now an active branch
No matter what your reason, please check out the Guidelines on the CEI website.

Environmental Teacher's International Covention (ETIC 2012) is an international conference for school teachers and educators active in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and or Environmental Education (EE) program. Builds on a strong tradition of sharing the latest in EE/ESD theory, policy and practice with the principle of togetherness, tolerance and participation.

Throughout the conference participants will discuss the implications for Education for Sustainable Consumption (ESC) and ESD of issues such as sustainable consumption, green economy, climate change and indigenous knowledge, as well as the latest strategies to enable young generation to see the planet as one interdependent environment. The program, which includes exhibitions, inquiry based field trip, group discussion and social activities such as cultural night and conference dinner, will provide an ideal opportunity to network with colleagues and strengthen school partnership.

ETIC 2012 organized by Pandu Pertiwi, Brawijaya University-Indonesia and other partners. Pandu Pertiwi is a network of teachers, educators and high school students active in EE/ESD. The network is an Indonesian chapter of Caretakers of the Environment International.

We invite you to join us on this journey of learning, sharing, networking and showcasing the best practices that the education has to offer.
